Ceramic Coating, Applied at Your Home
A ceramic coating is the most durable paint protection we offer: a liquid polymer that chemically bonds to your clear coat and cures into a hard, glossy, water-shedding layer. Rain beads off, road grime struggles to stick, and washes get faster and safer. We apply it where the car lives — your driveway — anywhere in the Fredericksburg area.
What a Ceramic Coating Actually Does
Once cured, a coating gives paint three things wax can't match. Longevity: where a carnauba wax lasts weeks and a spray sealant months, a properly maintained professional coating protects for years. Chemical resistance: bird droppings, tree sap, bug remains, and winter road brine sit on the coating instead of etching into your clear coat — Virginia pollen rinses off instead of bonding. Ease of washing: the slick, hydrophobic surface means dirt releases with far less scrubbing, which also means fewer wash-induced swirl marks over the life of the car.
What it doesn't do
An honest detailer tells you this part: a ceramic coating is not armor. It will not stop rock chips, door dings, or a real scratch — that's what paint protection film is for. It also doesn't make washing optional; it makes washing easier. If someone promises you a never-wash-again force field, keep your money.
Preparation is most of the job
A coating locks in whatever is underneath it — including swirl marks and oxidation. That's why every coating job starts with a full decontamination wash and the paint correction your finish needs. Coating over defects just preserves the defects in high gloss. It's also why quotes are individual: a two-year-old commuter and a ten-year-old daily driver need very different amounts of prep.
Two levels of ceramic protection
Not every car needs the full program. Our ceramic spray protection is an add-on to any wash or detail — months of hydrophobic behavior and serious water beading at an add-on price. A full ceramic coating is the multi-year version: correction-prepped paint, a professional-grade coating, and proper cure time. If you're not sure which fits, call us and describe the car — we'll tell you honestly if the spray is all you need.
What it costs
Full coatings are quoted per vehicle — size, paint condition, and how much correction the prep requires all move the number. Call or text (540) 779-0307 for a quote, or see our before-and-after work in the gallery.

Ceramic Coating — Common Questions
The spray ceramic add-on gives months of protection. A professional coating over corrected paint protects for years — how many depends on the product, how the car lives (garage vs. street), and whether it’s washed properly. We’ll give you an honest expectation for your specific car when we quote it.
Yes — a coating makes washing easier and safer, not optional. Dirt releases with less scrubbing, drying is faster, and the paint underneath stays protected while you do it.
We could, but we won’t — a coating locks in whatever is under it, swirls included, in high gloss. Every coating job includes the paint correction your finish actually needs first. That prep is most of the work and most of the value.
It’s quoted per vehicle — size, paint condition, and required prep all move the number, so a flat price would be dishonest in one direction or the other. Call or text (540) 779-0307 and we’ll quote your car.
